2D Sonograms are the technology used primarily for gender determination and fetal evaluation: Doppler to listen to the baby's heartbeat; 3D Sonograms produce still images, while 4D shows realtime. If your baby is yawning, sucking his/her thumb, etc. you will see his/her movements and gestures in the 3D/4D Sonogram.
